MATE’s international student underwater robotics (remotely operated vehicle or ROV) competition consists of an international event and a network of 31 (and growing!) regional contests that take place across the United States and in Canada, Hong Kong, Scotland, Egypt, Russia, Turkey, and Bermuda. Student teams from upper elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, home schools, community colleges, universities, and community organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club and 4-H, participate.

The 2018 MATE International ROV competition will take place Thursday, June 21st - Saturday, June 23rd at the Weyerhauser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington - USA.

Rotary and ROV - Entreprenurial Development

Student ROV teams within southeast Georgia may now be supported by club chapters of Rotary International District 6920. Rotary chapters have offered support for building materials or registration fees and Rotarians may participate as judges in the Gray's Reef Southeast MATE ROV Competition. The annual Gray's Reef Southeast MATE ROV Competition is an immersive underwater robotics experience for students in K12 – College and we are excited to be considered as part of District Governor Hamsa Thota’s Entrepreneurship Initiative.
