Rotary and ROV - Entreprenurial Development

Student ROV teams within southeast Georgia may now be supported by club chapters of Rotary International District 6920. Rotary chapters have offered support for building materials or registration fees and Rotarians may participate as judges in the Gray's Reef Southeast MATE ROV Competition. The annual Gray's Reef Southeast MATE ROV Competition is an immersive underwater robotics experience for students in K12 – College and we are excited to be considered as part of District Governor Hamsa Thota’s Entrepreneurship Initiative.

Offering students applied technical and engineering challenges while immersing them in marine science mission operations provides exposure to our ocean workplace and are drivers for development of our local blue economies. MATE ROV competitions engage students in entreprenurial development which is a primary focus for educational support by the Rotary District Governor who will invite the winning RANGER class team to showcase their vehicle at the Rotary All Clubs Conference on Jekyll Island, April 27-29!!
